Kitchen Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy around the home focuses on everyday tasks of life, including safe transfers and home environment simulations and activities. It improves cognitive function, motor function and control, task management and completion, and balance and stability. This therapy is used to return patients home safely.

The Biodex Balance System helps with balance, agility, and muscle tone. The system performs fall risk screenings, stability limits testing, leg strength comparison testing, and audio/visual biofeedback to prompt balance control.

OmniStand Fall-Safe Dynamic Balance System helps with balance, gait training, and standing tolerance. OmniStand offers a fall-safe design, one-on-one treatment, and adjustable postural support. It is recommended for those post-stroke, with Parkinson's disease, or with muscle disuse atrophy.

OmniCycle Motorized Therapeutic Exercise System helps with patient participation, recovery of function, and motor-assist technology. It offers biofeedback-driven exercise options for patients with different limitations. OmniCycle also helps patients who can’t perform therapeutic exercises because of strength, coordination, neurological, orthopedic, or cardiopulmonary issues.

Bioness L300

Bioness L300 uses gait-sensing technology, instantaneous nerve and muscle stimulation, and wire-free technology to improve natural walking ability, speed of gait, and balance and stability while standing or walking. It is used to treat patients with foot drop, stroke-caused instability, and multiple sclerosis.

LiteGait Training Device

The LiteGait device uses a harness that works over a treadmill or the floor to help patients stand and walk again without the risk of falling. LiteGait works by controlling weight bearing, posture, and balance. It is recommended for those with spinal cord injury, stroke, muscular dystrophy, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, or cerebral palsy.

Pain Management

Diathermy for physical therapy can help with blood flow, pain relief, and tissue mobility during the healing process. There are three types of diathermy: 1) Shortwave - best for sprains, strains, and bursitis; 2) Microwave - better for places close to skin; 3) Ultrasound - used for deep tissue. Diathermy can also treat arthritis, back pain, fibromyalgia, neuralgia, tenosynovitis, and tendonitis.

VitalStim Therapy System for speech therapy helps patients with swallowing disorders through electrical and sensory stimulation. It is recommended for those who've had a stroke or have Parkinson's disease or ALS.
