Women’s Health

From preventive screenings like pap smears, breast exams, and bone density scans to help during transitional times like during menopause, Dr. Jennifer Neville explains the various aspects of women's health.

What is menopause?

I have a lot of patients who are perimenopausal or menopausal. A lot of times women don't know when they are there. It's actually 12 months without a period. That's when you've entered menopause.

How can you help treat changing hormones?

A lot of different things can happen when your hormones change. We go through all those symptoms. There are medications we can use to help handle symptoms, but there are also some different things we can do without medications.

What kind of preventive care do you provide for women?

I handle paps. I do breast exams. Making sure women have had their mammograms is really important. At 65, we start doing bone density scans and looking for osteoporosis.
